Violent Ends by Shaun Hutchinson

One of the books I read over the summer was Violent Ends, by Shaun Hutchinson. Along with Shaun Hutchinson, 17 other authors wrote this. I really liked this book for this reason because each chapter was a short story of a character by a new author. Violent Ends is about a boy named Kirby Mathanson who brought a gun to his high school. He killed 6 kids and injured 5 during a school pep rally. Each chapter shows the perspective of a victim, Kirby's family, or friends of the victim.
This book was kind of weird in ways just because it was about a school shooting, but it was cool to read about the insight of the characters and their emotions through the trauma. For example, one of the chapters was about a boy named Teddy who used to be best friends with Kirby. They met at summer camp and Kirby always stuck up for him and helped him out. He never knew he would turn out to be a murderer, but Teddy still felt regretful because he could've been nicer to Kirby. Overall, Violent Ends was a pretty good book and I recommend it if you like mysteries and suspenseful books.

Fall Break Free Post

Fall break is definitely one of my favorite breaks. It is a great break from school to relax and have fun. This past break, my mom and one of my friends mom surprised us with a trip to New York for our birthdays. We were both super excited and could not wait until we got there.        We had to get up at 3:30 Thursday morning to get to New Orleans to catch our flight. After the short plane ride, we did not waste any time, we jumped right in to doing things. We shopped the first day and went out to dinner for an early birthday dinner at the Sugar Factory. The next few days, we spent in Central Park, Little Italy, Brooklyn, and SoHo. Also, we went to see Hamilton. It was awesome! Overall, I had a very fun fall break and got a good break from studying and homework.

What were your favorite characters childhood shows and characters?

My favorite childhood show was Hannah Montana hands down. My sister and I would sit on the couch and watch it for hours. As my 6 year old self, I thought it was so cool that Hannah had two identities, the other being Miley. Also, she was a teenage pop-star. She became famous all around the world at such a young age. Her costumes and outfits were so over the top and awesome; I always looked forward to her new "concert outfit". It was so unbelievably cool to me that Miley Cyrus started acting at such a young age and was a part of a TV show all girls looked up to.       My obsession with this show led me to my obsession with Hannah Montana. I thought of her as an awesome person and aspiring singer in this show. Now, of course I don't really know much about her because she isn't as public, but I think it would be so cool if she made a re-run. Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus inspired me as a kid and i still wish it was running.

Snow Day Free Post

I was very excited for the MLK three-day weekend after being back for a week from Christmas break. I could not wait to sleep in and hang out with friends. For the three-day weekend, two of my friends from camp came in to visit. One of them is from Mississippi and the other is from Dallas, so we don't get the chance to see each other often. We spent the first day in Baton Rouge and hung out here; then the next two days we went to New Orleans. New Orleans was so much fun because neither of them had been before, so it was interesting to show them around and eat and shop.     Then, I was so happy when school got cancelled for two days because of the snow. It was awesome to have two extra days of break. Although I spent most of it doing ECLs, I made time to rest and hang out with friends. Overall, this break was super fun and well-needed.
