Symbolism

It was a freezing winter night and Taylor had no where to go. He was in a part of town which he had never seen before. This was odd because he had a pretty good familiarity with the town having been living on the streets for the past 2 weeks. There were no cars, street signs, or stores in sight. Something deep down in Taylor knew this night was going to be different. He waited and waited for a car or even to see a phone booth. But, there was no hope....until a gust of wind zipped by him from a passing car. Taylor started chasing the car in hopes of it stopping. Thankfully, the car saw Taylor out of the rearview mirror, and backed up to him.
In the car was a man and a woman. They rolled down the window and asked, "What are you doing out here on a freezing night like this?" Taylor responded shivering, "I have been on the streets for 2 weeks and got stuck out here. I am lost and hungry and thirsty." The couple immediately filled with sadness said, "Jump in the car, you need a good meal and a warm house. We are on our way to the next town, but you can stay with us a couple days." Taylor could not show his thankfulness enough. Not only did they save him from being in the middle of nowhere, but they saved his life.

The man and woman in the car are a symbol of comfort and love. They were the guardian angels of Taylor, saving him and offering their house to him.

Fall Break Free Post

Fall break is definitely one of my favorite breaks. It is a great break from school to relax and have fun. This past break, my mom and one of my friends mom surprised us with a trip to New York for our birthdays. We were both super excited and could not wait until we got there.        We had to get up at 3:30 Thursday morning to get to New Orleans to catch our flight. After the short plane ride, we did not waste any time, we jumped right in to doing things. We shopped the first day and went out to dinner for an early birthday dinner at the Sugar Factory. The next few days, we spent in Central Park, Little Italy, Brooklyn, and SoHo. Also, we went to see Hamilton. It was awesome! Overall, I had a very fun fall break and got a good break from studying and homework.

Snow Day Free Post

I was very excited for the MLK three-day weekend after being back for a week from Christmas break. I could not wait to sleep in and hang out with friends. For the three-day weekend, two of my friends from camp came in to visit. One of them is from Mississippi and the other is from Dallas, so we don't get the chance to see each other often. We spent the first day in Baton Rouge and hung out here; then the next two days we went to New Orleans. New Orleans was so much fun because neither of them had been before, so it was interesting to show them around and eat and shop.     Then, I was so happy when school got cancelled for two days because of the snow. It was awesome to have two extra days of break. Although I spent most of it doing ECLs, I made time to rest and hang out with friends. Overall, this break was super fun and well-needed.

Interrogation Dialogue

Tom, the judge, and the lawyer  all face each other tensely in the court room. "I have some questions to ask you Mr. Tom, where were you on September 1st at 9:30 am?" The lawyer asks sternly. "I was at a coffee shop studying." Answered Tom. "Who were you with?" Questioned the lawyer. "No one, but an old friend of mine from college was there. I talked to her for about 10 minutes." "What is her name?" "Jill White." Tom answered. "What exactly did y'all talk about?' The lawyer interrogated. "We were just catching up. We hadn't seen each other in 5 years. She was telling me about her new job and her kids. That was really all." "Okay, but how do I not know you were in the alley right next to the coffee shop during the time of the murder of our town mayor?" "Why would you suspect such a thing? This is crazy!" Asked Tom frantically. "Answer my question." Rep...
