Short Story

Rebecca's alarm started blaring at 5:55 am. She did not even hesitate that it was so early, she immediately got up. Rebecca burst out of her bed and immediately started to get ready. Her mom screamed from downstairs, "Becca, hurry up! Be ready in 5 minutes!" Rebecca chimed back, "Okay I'll be down in a second!" There was no time to lose, the tide was going to get too rough even if they were 10 minutes late. All ready to go in their swimsuits, Becca and her mom drove along the scenic highway to a nearby beach in California. The views were gorgeous, the water had the perfect tide, and there was not a cloud in sight. They hurried out of the car and jumped right into paddling in the freezing water.

  1. I can't tell of that is a typo, but why is the significance of the big R? Besides that, I enjoyed the story and the dialogue so good job.

  3. I really enjoyed your story. I liked how you emphasized the importance of this to the characters by making it so early in the morning. I wouldn't have gotten up that early to go to the beach.

Fall Break Free Post

Fall break is definitely one of my favorite breaks. It is a great break from school to relax and have fun. This past break, my mom and one of my friends mom surprised us with a trip to New York for our birthdays. We were both super excited and could not wait until we got there.        We had to get up at 3:30 Thursday morning to get to New Orleans to catch our flight. After the short plane ride, we did not waste any time, we jumped right in to doing things. We shopped the first day and went out to dinner for an early birthday dinner at the Sugar Factory. The next few days, we spent in Central Park, Little Italy, Brooklyn, and SoHo. Also, we went to see Hamilton. It was awesome! Overall, I had a very fun fall break and got a good break from studying and homework.

Interrogation Dialogue

Tom, the judge, and the lawyer  all face each other tensely in the court room. "I have some questions to ask you Mr. Tom, where were you on September 1st at 9:30 am?" The lawyer asks sternly. "I was at a coffee shop studying." Answered Tom. "Who were you with?" Questioned the lawyer. "No one, but an old friend of mine from college was there. I talked to her for about 10 minutes." "What is her name?" "Jill White." Tom answered. "What exactly did y'all talk about?' The lawyer interrogated. "We were just catching up. We hadn't seen each other in 5 years. She was telling me about her new job and her kids. That was really all." "Okay, but how do I not know you were in the alley right next to the coffee shop during the time of the murder of our town mayor?" "Why would you suspect such a thing? This is crazy!" Asked Tom frantically. "Answer my question." Rep

Hits and Misses

This school year, along with English I is coming to an end. As I reflect on what went well and what went not so well, I come to conclusion with what I can put forth next year. We completed multiple assignments, such as personal narratives, literary analysis, research paper, and poetry. In these assignments, I have achieved both success and failures. I feel successful in my blog posts because I always spend time perfecting them and use them to become a better writer. Also, the personal narrative and research paper were my stronger assignments. We had lots of time to perfect these and get help. I took advantage of this and used this time to work on my writing skills.      I struggled with the poetry section and literary analysis. The poetry section was difficult for me because of all the different applications and variety it required. I work better with set, given instructions, so to be able to choose from ten different poetry styles was hard because I did not know which style was
